Among the great names that have been driving the Jura vineyards since the early 2000s and contributing to their new fame, Jean-François Ganevat is certainly the most famous today! In addition to his charisma, it is his extremely rigorous work and the expressive precision of his wines - from his own vines or from the négoce that he runs with his sister Anne - that make the estate a real beacon of the Jura.
In 1998, Jean-François Ganevat returned to the family estate (now 10 hectares) in the Combe de Rotalier, after ten years spent in Burgundy on a Chassagne-Montrachet estate. He quickly rose to the top, in line with the pioneers who had opened up a new path for Jura wines. A colourful, free winegrower, he contributes with passion to giving back the brightest and most authentic colours to the Jura vineyards with exceptional Côtes-du-Jura, but also by bringing back into cultivation many "forgotten" grape varieties. The art of accompanying each plot of land - marl, schist, limestone -, like the Burgundian "climats", as close as possible to its purest expression, is the know-how that makes him an emblematic winegrower. With the same talent, he completes his range with purchases of grapes for a trading activity in association with his sister Anne. In 2021, he sold his estate, but he remains in charge of the vineyards and the vinification.
