Durieux Yann
Recrue des Sens

A trajectory that goes from the experience accumulated over 10 years as vineyard manager at Domaine Prieuré-Roch in the Côte-de-Nuits to the first wines signed Recrue des Sens in 2010: Yann Durieux has asserted himself over the vintages as one of the most demanding and inspired craftsmen of the great terroirs of Burgundy.

Yann Durieux was the vineyard manager for a decade at Domaine Prieuré-Roch - a major Côte-de-Nuits estate created by Henry-Frédéric Roch (co-manager of Romanée-Conti, now deceased) - and in 2010 he took over the plots of land belonging to his family. This estate of 3 ha of vines, located in the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits above Nuits-Saint-Georges, was integrated into his company Recrue des Sens and then increased by various parcels acquired on lease in carefully chosen locations and "climats" in the Côte and Haute-Côte de Nuits, and even in the Côte de Beaune. The project is ambitious: simply to make wines that are as natural and authentic as possible, with a minimum of intervention in the cellar, which requires the greatest care to be taken with the quality of the grapes produced by untrimmed vines (the branches are "braided" together and form "bridges"). With very low yields and unstripped grapes, he obtains juices of remarkable purity, precision and depth. Now in the Vin de France appellation, rare burgundies, in every sense of the word.
