Emblematic of the young generation that is giving new impetus to the Jura vineyards - represented by the association Le nez dans le vert - Jean-Baptiste Ménigoz is now one of its major figures. With his Domaine Les Bottes Rouges, he makes wines whose frankness and depth are reflected in their magnificent drinkability.
Jean-Baptiste Ménigoz went from amateur winemaker - he was a teacher at the time - to full-time winemaker in 2012. A few leagues west of Arbois, he built an estate - Les Bottes Rouges - which today has 7 hectares worked organically and biodynamically with the primary objective of wines that require no inputs (except possibly a minimal dose of sulphur) and as few interventions as possible. Fruit, freshness and purity of expression characterise the wines, whose frankness and depth are reflected in their magnificent drinkability. Emblematic of the young generation that is giving new impetus to the Jura vineyards - represented by the association Le nez dans le vert - Jean-Baptiste Ménigoz, with the complicity of his associate Florien Kleine Snuverink, is now one of its major figures.
