Philippe Bornard went from being a winegrower to a wine maker in 2005 by signing multiple vintages stamped with his unmistakable "fox". Jovial and direct, like his colourful wines, he is, with his neighbour Pierre Overnoy and his friend Fabrice Dodane, one of the great figures of the Jura vineyards.
For a long time, he was a wine supplier to the Fruitière de Pupillin - a village close to Arbois with its own appellation, Arbois-Pupillin, renowned in particular for its ploussard (poulsard) - and he became a winegrower in 2005, producing a number of vintages bearing his unmistakable "fox" stamp. Jovial and direct, like his colourful wines, he is, with his neighbour Pierre Overnoy and his friend Fabrice Dodane, one of the great figures of the Jura vineyards. His estate - where his son Tony joined him in 2017 - now has a dozen hectares cultivated organically: healthy grapes, vinified as naturally as possible in the frank and unsophisticated style that characterises his wines.
