Trebbiano, not specifically Sicilian, benefits here from a beautiful high altitude terroir and even more so from the demands of a winemaker in strong empathy with his land: healthy harvest, vinification in stainless steel vats with a 2-day maceration with the skins, maturing in stainless steel vats and barrels.

Le Coste is an estate that is emblematic of the development and influence of natural wines in Italy. It was founded in 2004 by Gian-Marco Antonuzi and Clementine Bouveron in Gradoli, at the northern tip of Lazio on the border of Tuscany, on the volcanic slopes overlooking Lake Bolsena. In the management of their vineyards, the winegrowers are determined to refuse monoculture, to defend biodiversity and respect for a rich environment, and to favor natural vinification without inputs or corrective interventions.

Entirely made from old vines of Nerello Mascalese from different plots - especially of "crus" - the estate's classic cuvée.

From the estate's eponymous parcel that combines Greghetto with old massal selection Sangiovese, a red vinified in open vats and then aged 2 years in small barrels. 

Barbera, a red grape variety with a naturally high acidity, here yields a crisp wine from the 2017 harvest, produced from a long "infusion" (about 30 days).

Made from old Procanico vines, grapes are destemmed then macerate for 1 month in amphora. Aged 1 year in amphora, then 2 years in small wooden vats.

Malvasia di Candia aromatica is macerated for 270 days with the skins to obtain a golden colour to obtain a golden color - the color of the ripe grape - and a complex and aromatic juice, with body and tonicity.
