Anthony Tortul - La Sorga

Anthony Tortul, with his La Sorga estate, is an exemplary representative of a generation that opted – for lack of being able to buy vines – for a négociant-winemaker activity from plots selected with strict standards that meet a clearly stated ambition to refine natural wines.
After years working as a wine technician in different vineyards in the South of France, Anthony Tortul decided to create his Domaine de la Sorga, based in the Languedoc. It is emblematic of the young generation passionate about natural wines who opted – for lack of being able to buy vines – for a négociant business, buying grapes from vineyards selected across the South-West (and a little of the South-East) following strict criteria: local grape varieties, terroirs of character, organic/biodynamic farming. The goal is ripe and healthy harvests for vinification without inputs and pure wines of great authenticity.
