La Salada - Toni Carbó

Toni Carbó is one of the great figures of the new breath which animates the Penedès vineyard in Catalonia, in particular with his participation in the creation of Mas Candi and his own La Salada estate. Respect for nature and a spirit of innovation characterize wines with a taste of authenticity. It is around El Pla del Penedès, in the heart of Penedès in Catalonia, that Toni Carbó's La Salada estate is located.
After taking part in the creation of Mas Candi with his friend Ramón Jané, he created his own cellar in 2012 from family vines traditionally cultivated by hand without having experienced any ploughing or chemical inputs, and respectful of biodiversity. The transition to biodynamics was the logical next step, favouring on the one hand typically Catalan grape varieties such as Xarel.lo, Macabeu and the rare Malvasia de Sitges (whites) or Sumoll (reds), and on the other hand natural vinification. Like the personality of the winemaker, the wines are dynamic, authentic, without any artifice: Toni Carbó asserts himself as one of the great figures in the development of natural wines in Catalonia.
