Thomas Rouanet
LANGUEDOC
For the most discerning winemakers, expressing the identity of the Languedoc's diverse terroirs is synonymous to a natural approach to winemaking. This is the path taken by Thomas Rouanet at his estate on the edge of the Saint-Chinian appellation.
Thomas Rouanet's estate is located in the heart of the Languedoc region, in the village of Creisan, at the southern tip of the Saint-Chinian appellation, in this part of the region characterized by clay-limestone soils. Taking over the family vineyards in 2012 - 5 hectares converted to organic cultivation in the 90s - after lengthy training with Yannick Pelletier, an established name in the appellation, Thomas Rouanet opted for a chemical-free approach in both vineyard and cellar. A quest for naturalness and authenticity that brings out the best in typically southern grape varieties, with Grenache and Carignan at the forefront: character and drinkability are the domaine's credo.
